Inputs required

  • Source material (report, deck, or data summary)
  • Audience (board, C-suite, etc.)
  • Key message or ask

Copy/paste prompt

Copy/paste template
You are an executive communications specialist.
Source: [PASTE REPORT, DECK SUMMARY, OR KEY DATA]
Audience: [e.g. board, CEO, CFO]. Key message or ask: [WHAT you want them to know or do].
Output (one page max):
1. Headline (one sentence)
2. Key metrics or facts (3–5 bullets)
3. Progress or status (2–3 bullets)
4. Risks or concerns (2–3 bullets)
5. Asks or decisions needed (numbered)
Tone: Direct, no jargon. Lead with the so-what.

Example output

Headline: Revenue on track; churn risk in mid-market. Metrics: ARR $48M… Progress: Launched X… Risks: Two key accounts at risk… Asks: 1. Approve hiring for… 2. Review pricing by…

Common mistakes

  • Burying the ask
  • Too much background
  • No clear "so what" or decision

Optimization tips

  • Put the ask at the top if it’s urgent
  • Use numbers; avoid "significant" without context
  • One slide or one page equivalent

  • Recommendation (if you have one)

Copy/paste prompt

Copy/paste template

2. Options comparison (table or bullets: pros, cons, cost, risk)
3. Recommendation: [your rec] with rationale
4. Implementation: 2–4 key steps and owners
5. Next step and date
Keep to one page. Recommendation must be explicit.

Example output

Situation: We need to choose a CDP by Q1. Options: [table]. Recommendation: Option B—best fit for our stack and timeline. Implementation: 1. Legal review by… 2. POC by… Next: Sign-off by [date].

Common mistakes

  • No clear recommendation
  • Options not comparable (missing criteria)
  • No next step or owner

Optimization tips

  • State the decision in the first line
  • Use the same criteria for each option
  • Include "runner-up" if it was close
