Advanced Techniques

Optional deep dives for more reliable and sophisticated outputs.

Chain-of-thought reasoning

When: Complex analysis, multi-step reasoning, or when you need to see the "why."

How: Ask the AI to show steps before the conclusion, e.g.: "Before your final answer, work through: 1) … 2) … 3) … Then conclude."

Example: You are a financial analyst. Assess whether this SaaS company’s growth is sustainable. Use this process: 1) Unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback), 2) Revenue quality (NRR, churn), 3) Growth efficiency (Rule of 40), 4) Risks. Show your work for each step, then synthesize.

Few-shot optimization

When: Format or style must match existing content; 3–5 examples usually optimal.

How: Provide 3–5 examples that show the range of acceptable outputs; note what to emulate.

Example: Write responses in our service recovery tone. Examples: [3 past responses]. Notice: we acknowledge directly, take ownership, explain what happened, give clear next steps. Now respond to: [this complaint].
